PROJECT WORKPLACE

WHY THIS PROGRAM EXISTS

You didn’t take them this far only to watch them stumble entering the workforce.

And today’s employment landscape makes that transition more challenging than ever.

Recent workforce research shows that a majority of employers feel young, entry‑level workers lack the skills needed to succeed on the job — not because they’re lazy or unmotivated, but because they weren’t trained for the realities of work.

More than half of hiring leaders say weak soft skills — communication, critical thinking, teamwork — are a key reason new workers are unprepared for today’s roles.

At the same time, turnover among young employees is alarmingly high. Many Gen Z hires are dismissed or leave within their first year, often due to unmet expectations, miscommunication, or difficulty adjusting to workplace norms.

What employers say they want — problem‑solving, initiative, clear communication, and follow‑through — are exactly the skills woven into this program.

PROJECT WORKPLACE was created because being able doesn’t always translate to being ready — not without guidance, practice, and real‑world skill development.

Why This Works for Your Young Adult

Today’s employers increasingly prioritize:

  • Problem solving and initiative — nearly 90% of employers look for this in entry‑level candidates.

  • Soft skills like communication and teamwork — lack of these is cited by 56% of leaders as a core readiness gap.

  • Workplace expectations that aren’t intuitive — many young professionals leave or are let go within the first 3–6 months of a job due to unmet performance standards.

Project Workplace bridges that gap — teaching these skills in the context of real workplace expectations, with structured support, accountability, and measurable progress.

Project Workplace

What Your Young Adult Will Actually Learn

Project Workplace is a 1:1 workforce readiness program built for young adults who are smart and capable — but not quite ready for what the workplace expects.

We focus on three things:

  • Soft skills — communication, follow-through, professionalism, initiative

  • Executive function — planning, task initiation, time management, adapting under pressure

  • Job readiness — résumé building, applications, interviews, and real-time job search support

But this isn’t theory. And it’s not generic life coaching.

Everything is taught through real-world tasks, daily structure, and direct support, so your young adult builds the habits, confidence, and momentum to get hired and stay employed.

How the Program Works

Individualized Career Mapping & Daily Execution

This is not a plug-and-play program. We start 1:1 — just me and your young adult — and we figure out what’s actually going to work for them. Through a series of short assessments (executive function, personality, competitiveness, career values, and more), we identify career paths that match their neurotype, lifestyle, education, and long-term goals.

From there, we build a custom plan — starting with a 90-minute strategy session to walk through the results and lay out next steps. I create their schedule, structure their daily tasks, and track progress throughout the week so they stay on track without burning out.

They’ll also get access to a private resource library, weekly coaching (60 mins total per week, usually split into 2 sessions), text/IM support between sessions, and hypnosis reinforcement to help with activation, follow-through, and stress regulation.

This isn’t generic life advice. Students are given real-world assignments tied directly to securing employment while learning the soft-skills necessary to keep the job they just secured.

Tasks are specific, actionable, and tied to progress!

Parent Partnership & Progress Tracking

You’re part of the process! Parents receive weekly updates on performance and participation — plus two 30-minute strategy calls per month to ask questions, voice concerns, and stay in the loop.

No guessing. No chasing. You’ll know exactly where things stand.

Project Workplace is built for long-term results — not quick fixes. The 6-month track is our standard program for a reason. It gives your young adult the time, structure, and support they need to explore the right career, build soft skills, and actually follow through.

We start with assessments, build a personalized strategy, and meet 1:1 each week for coaching, planning, and execution. Between sessions, I provide structure, track progress, and use targeted hypnosis to support activation, follow-through, and stress management.

This is the full arc — from “stuck and unsure” to focused, employed, and able to handle the real-world demands of work and life.

The 3-month track is a shorter engagement for families who aren’t ready to commit to the full six months — but know their young adult needs support now. We focus on career clarity, executive function, and structured daily planning so they can get moving in the right direction.

This is the same 1:1 model with weekly sessions, real-world assignments, and between-session access — just with a tighter timeline and more focused goals.

It’s a solid starting point — but for lasting change, most clients move into the full program.

Here's What I Bring to the Table

Hi — I’m Dennis Tyrrell, and for over 30 years I’ve helped people build the structure, clarity, and follow-through they need to show up and succeed — in real life, not just on paper.

I’ve worked with young adults as a recruit training officer, paramedic preceptor, educator, therapist, HR director, and corporate trainer. I know what it looks like when someone’s smart, capable, and motivated — but still can’t get started, follow through, or finish what they begin.

This program isn’t about mindset hacks or morning routines. It’s about helping your son or daughter function — at work, in life, and under pressure.

We start by understanding how they’re wired. Then we build a system around that wiring so they can take action, show up consistently, and actually gain momentum.

This is high-access, 1:1 support — not cheerleading, not therapy, and not group coaching. Just honest, customized help from someone who’s trained leaders, supported neurodiverse clients, and coached high performers.

I work directly with each client to identify their path forward and make sure they actually walk it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach me at dennis@tyrrellconsulting.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

No. This isn’t therapy, mindset coaching, or emotional processing. This is structured, forward-facing support focused on helping your young adult take action — consistently. We build routines, track progress, and solve real-world problems related to work and functioning.

That’s exactly who this program is for. Many of my clients are intelligent and motivated, but they struggle with executive function: getting started, following through, or staying organized under stress. That’s what we address — with systems that match how they actually function.

Most career programs focus on technical skills, résumés, and 'gaming' the applicant tracking systems used by jobboards.

I focus on the person behind it. That means identifying the right path based on neurotype, lifestyle, and long-term goals; then building the scaffolding to help your young adult actually move forward and follow through.

That’s common — and it’s not a problem. We start with a comprehensive set of assessments (executive function, personality, career values, interests, etc.) and use those results to guide career exploration, decision-making, and real-world testing of different paths.

This is a 1:1 program between me and your young adult — but you’ll never be in the dark. You’ll get a summary of our starting plan, and I’ll provide light progress updates so you know they’re getting traction. If something urgent arises, I’ll loop you in directly.

Job offers can’t be guaranteed — there are too many moving parts outside anyone’s control. But your young adult will leave this program with a targeted plan, the structure to follow through, and the soft skills employers actually look for: communication, initiative, follow-through, and professionalism.

They’ll know how to manage their time, advocate for themselves, and show up ready; not just for interviews, but for real life.

Hypnosis helps your young adult get out of their own way — especially when it comes to motivation, self-doubt, and emotional reactivity. I use it to reinforce the changes we’re building on the surface: better habits, stronger follow-through, and clearer thinking under pressure.

It also helps us go deeper, starting with identity. Before we talk goals or careers, we figure out who they are — how they’re wired, what actually matters to them, and what gets in their way. That clarity is what makes everything else possible.

Click the button below to book an intro call. Once we confirm it’s a good fit, your young adult will begin the assessment process and have their first session scheduled within a week.

You've Done Your Part. Now Let Them Do Theirs

You raised them, supported them, and got them this far. But finishing strong takes more than advice — it takes execution. Project Workplace gives your young adult the tools, structure, and support to secure real employment and meet the demands of today’s workforce.

This isn’t about pushing them — it’s about positioning them to succeed.
