Thanks for Stopping By!

I'm glad you're here. If you'd like to learn more about who I am, the experiences that shaped my work, and why I created Impact Hypnosis, you're in the right place.

why I created Impact Hypnosis

I didn't set out to become a hypnotherapist...

If you're here, there's a good chance you've already spent a lot of time trying to solve a problem. Maybe you've read the books, talked with professionals, researched every possible solution, and still found yourself dealing with the same frustration over and over again.

For most of my adult life, I worked in emergency services and behavioral health, helping people navigate some of the most difficult challenges of their lives. I served as an Army medic, spent 20 years in the fire service, and later worked as a therapist specializing in behaviour change (substance abuse, domestic violence, anger management).

I have two graduate degrees, one in counseling and one in human resources, and have spent years studying human behavior, psychology, and the factors that influence lasting change.

During my time as a business performance consultant, I authored the book, "Change Without Chaos" , an organizational development guide to rolling out change without resistance.

The longer I worked in behavioral health, the more frustrated I became. I watched good people work incredibly hard to improve their lives. They attended appointments, completed treatment plans, learned new skills, and genuinely wanted things to be different. Yet many continued struggling with the same habits, patterns, and behaviors that brought them there in the first place.

Eventually, I had a choice to make: I could stay and keep going through the motions, or I could walk away and build something that better reflected the way change actually happens. That's exactly what I did.

I wanted to spend more time focused on helping people create meaningful change and less time working inside systems that often seemed more focused on documentation, protocols, and diagnoses than outcomes.

That's what led me to hypnosis.

Impact Hypnosis was built from that experience: a professional, welcoming space in North Phoenix where people can get practical help for real-world behavior change without the stigma, jargon, or unnecessary complexity that so often gets in the way.

My Approach to change

Most people arrive here after trying the reasonable solutions first.

One of the things I learned during my years in behavioral health is that information alone rarely creates change.

Most people already know what they should be doing.

They know they should stop smoking. They know they should eat differently. They know they should stop procrastinating, follow through on important tasks, get better sleep, or manage stress more effectively.

The challenge is rarely a lack of knowledge.

The challenge is that habits, emotions, automatic behaviors, and deeply ingrained patterns often take over long before logic has a chance to weigh in.

That's what originally interested me about hypnosis.

Used appropriately, hypnosis creates an opportunity to step outside of those automatic patterns for a moment. It helps people become more intentional about the choices they're making and more aware of the behaviors that have been running in the background for years.

My approach combines hypnosis with principles from psychology, behavior change, and practical real-world application. Every client is different, which is why I don't use a one-size-fits-all process or generic scripts.

Whether you're working on smoking cessation, weight loss, chronic pain, stress, or everyday behavior change, the goal is the same: help you create changes that feel realistic, sustainable, and meaningful in your daily life.

This is personal for me

This work is built around real life, not theory.

The work I do today isn't based solely on education, training, or professional experience.

Over the years, I've faced many of the same challenges that bring people through my door.

I used nicotine heavily for years. I've lived with chronic pain since a serious motor vehicle accident in 2006. I continue to manage chronic health conditions that affect nearly every aspect of daily life. After that accident, limited mobility and chronic pain contributed to significant weight gain, and I eventually lost more than 100 pounds by applying many of the same behavior change principles I now use with clients.

Those experiences changed the way I think about change.

When you're dealing with pain, stress, addiction, health challenges, or behaviors that seem to run on autopilot, knowing what to do is rarely the hard part.

Following through consistently is where most people struggle.

That's one of the reasons I connect so strongly with the people I work with.

I understand how frustrating it can be to feel stuck. I understand what it's like to put in effort and still feel like you're spinning your wheels. And I understand how much relief can come from finally finding an approach that fits the way your brain and body actually work.

While your story is different from mine, you'll never have to convince me that your struggle is real. I've spent enough time on both sides of the conversation to know how difficult meaningful change can be.

If you’re reading this, you’ve probably already put a lot of effort into fixing the problem.

Most people who come in aren’t looking for motivation — they’re tired of trying things that should have worked.

When you come to see me, you won’t be judged or put on the spot. My job is to understand what’s actually happening, keep the session clear and structured, and give you something you can use right away.

You don’t have to prepare or perform in the office. I’ll guide the process step by step so you know what we’re doing and why.

The goal is simple: you leave with a practical way forward instead of more frustration.

Sessions are held in person in Phoenix and scheduled privately.

You will not be placed in a group setting or a waiting room conversation.

The appointment starts with a short review of the questionnaires so we can quickly understand where the pattern shows up and keep the session focused.

The working portion is structured and guided. You remain aware and able to respond the entire time. Nothing is forced, and you are not asked to share anything unrelated to the problem you came to solve.

Most people find the process straightforward. You’ll know what we are doing as we do it, and you leave with a method you can use in real situations — at your desk, during study time, or when pressure rises.

The goal is simple: a clear session, a usable response, and a practical result once you walk out the door.

In my experience, yes.

One of the biggest misconceptions about hypnosis is that it only works for highly suggestible people or people who are eager to be hypnotized. That's not been my experience at all.

In fact, many of my clients are analytical, skeptical, independent thinkers who aren't entirely sure hypnosis will work for them when they first walk through the door.

My process is designed to work with the person sitting in front of me, not a specific "type" of client. You don't need a certain personality, belief system, or level of suggestibility to benefit from hypnosis.

What matters most is that you're willing to participate in the process and are genuinely interested in creating change.

If you're curious, skeptical, or somewhere in between, you're probably in good company.

Many hypnotists rely on a one-size-fits-all approach. They use the same scripts, the same recordings, and the same process regardless of who is sitting in front of them.

That's never made much sense to me.

Before opening Impact Hypnosis, I spent years working in behavioral health, helping people navigate substance abuse, anger management, domestic violence, and other challenges rooted in human behavior. That experience taught me that people are different, and effective change usually requires more than a generic script.

My approach combines hypnosis with principles from psychology, behavior change, communication, and practical real-world application. Every session is tailored to the person in front of me, their goals, and the challenges they're trying to overcome.

I also work hard to create an environment that feels professional, approachable, and grounded. No swinging watches. No mysterious powers. No pressure to believe anything.

Just practical tools designed to help you create meaningful change.
